The budget ― which includes town operations and capital expenses as well as the town’s share of the Lyme-Old Lyme school spending plan ― is down about $1 million, or 7.8%, from current spending.
Voters on Thursday will be asked to weigh in on the proposed 2024-25 budget of $90.6 million and it’s 5.3% increase over the current budget.
The proposed budget ― which includes town operations, education and capital costs ― represents an increase of $1.1 million, 2.7% over the current budget.
Incumbent state Rep. Holly Cheeseman, R-East Lyme, and Democratic challenger Nick Menapace will again face off in November after being nominated at their respective conventions this week.
Democrats from Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and part of Westbrook on Wednesday nominated Jane Wisialowski as their candidate for the 23rd Assembly District.
