Backstreet Boys lead 96.5 TIC concert at Mohegan Sun

Last year, the 96.5 TIC All Star Christmas brought OneRepublic, James Bay, Lindsey Stirling and Nick Fradiani into Mohegan Sun Arena. (Meghan Trainor was supposed to perform, too, but had to drop out because of vocal problems.)

This year, the 96.5 TIC All Star Christmas has mustered a different starry line-up. Leading the way are the Backstreet Boys, who will do their dancing-and-singing-and-making-the-fans-scream-and-swoon thing. Will they bust out “Quit Playing Games (With My Heart),” “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” or “I Want It That Way”? No doubt.

Joining them on the bill is Fergie, who released her second solo album earlier this year, a follow-up to 2006’s “The Dutchess.” “Double Dutchess” fizzled, but Fergie still has plenty of hits from her solo debut (“Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Fergalicious”) and her Black Eyed Peas time (“Let’s Get it Started,” “My Humps”).

And rounding out the night is MAX (no mistake there: Max Schneider goes by just his first name now, all in caps), who’s known for his music that uses elements of soul and electronica. Earlier in his career, though, he wrote songs and starred in programs for Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel. He worked on Nickelodeon's “How to Rock” and Disney’s “Shake It Up," among others.

96.5 TIC All Star Christmas, 8 p.m. Saturday, Mohegan Sun Arena; $50-$75; 1-800-745-3000.
