Groton - The 127 members of Grasso Tech's graduating class have donned their navy blue caps and gowns and are about to march into the next phase of their lives.

As they lined up in the cafeteria, their families waited in the gym with blue and white balloons and flowers.

"The mood is excited and yet sad," said senior Julie Welch of Groton.

The seniors say they have learned things here that will stay with them for life.

"I do think Grasso gives you an edge,' said senior Thomas Firgeleski of Groton. "It's definitely a hands-on kind of school."
