The Brown Derby will host local modern rock act Borrowed Toys on Saturday night at 9 and the band will have a couple new faces in its lineup.
According to an email sent to me by band member Joe Ciaudelli, the band will have Kevin Hupp on drums and Charlie Torres on bass.
Hupp has played with the likes of Edgar and Johnny Winter, Eddie Van Halen and Joan Osborne. Torres has played bass with Little Richard, Chuck Berry and other acts.
Borrowed Toys’ lead singer, Nancy Johnson, is a Montville native. The band, which I profiled in the Montville Times in July, bills itself as a non-stop modern pop, rock and roll and classic rock group. It also has a number of original songs, including its newest song, the yet-to-be-released "Better."
