Cottrell Brewing Company will kick off its 15th anniversary with a celebration at the brewery Feb. 28.
The brewery, at 100 Mechanic St. in Pawcatuck, will debut its Woodford Reserve Barrel-Aged Perry’s Revenge and offer tastings of a special Cask Ale, the cask-version of Old Yankee Ale. The free event, which is open to the public, will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Everyone who attends will get the chance to win a T-shirt or pint glass as a raffle prize. The barrel-aged Perry’s Revenge will be sold in 22-ounce bottles, only at the brewery since just one barrel was used. Perry’s Revenge was recently released in 12-ounce bottles and can be found in stores.
Then the partygoers will walk down Mechanic Street to C.C. O’brien’s— the same path Cottrell owner Charles Buffum walked when he delivered his first keg of beer to the sports pub.
The celebration continues there until 8 p.m., with a performance by the Mystic Highland Pipe Band and $4 pints of Old Yankee and Mystic Bridge.
Other events will be planned throughout the year to celebrate the anniversary.
