Ledyard – Police are investigating two burglaries and one attempted burglary that occurred at the Bear's Place Package store, Sonny's Wine and Spirits and an Avery Hill Road home this morning.

At 3:16 a.m., police responded to a security alarm at the package store on 126 Gallup Hill Road to find that someone had attempted to enter the store but was unsuccessful.

Less than 10 minutes later, police responded to another security alarm at Sonny’s Wine and Spirits at 756 Colonel Ledyard Highway. According to a police department press release, products were taken from inside the store.

The Patrol and Detective Divisions of the Ledyard Police Department continue to investigate these two incidents.

At 10:53 a.m., police responded to a home on Avery Hill Road to find that a person had forced their way into the home and took various items.

“No one was home at the time,” police Lt. Michael Finkelstein said this afternoon. “They came home and found that someone had broken in.”

Police ask that anyone with information regarding these three cases to contact the Ledyard Police Department at (860) 464-6400.
