Area needs more free dental clinics

We all think it's great that such cities as Hartford and New Haven have free dental clinics for people who need service from time to time, but what about other areas? They need dental services, too.

I live in Groton, am on Social Security, and don't have any dental insurance. Even ads on TV for dental insurance won't help because when I call my dentist he tells me he doesn't accept that insurance program.

Of course he doesn't; he never accepts any program I've ever called about.

It's just a sad fact, and a shame on our community as a whole.

I've heard of so many people out there hurting in dental discomfort, and they are turned away for services because of no cash or insurance.

Now it's time to have a free dental clinic around our area so we don't have to drive 80 miles or so for treatment with the price of regular gas over $4 a gallon.

I'm urging all of you to stand up and be heard about getting our area serviced. You will be supporting a worthy noble cause and helping your local towns people get some relief from pain.
