19 Backus doctors named tops by peers

Norwich — Nineteen physicians on the medical staff of The William W. Backus Hospital have been named to Connecticut Magazine's annual listing of "top doctors" in the state.

Selections are based on questionnaires the magazine sent to doctors across the state, asking them to recommend a physician to whom they would send a loved one. The top vote-getters make the list.

Rajkumar, internal medicine/infectious disease; Dr. Mahesh N. Kabadi, internal medicine; Dr. Anis Racy, neurology; Dr. John P. Tauro, neurology; Dr. Camille G. Salame, neurosurgery; Dr. Jeffrey A. Hertz, ophthalmology; Dr. Laurentiu P. Galan, pediatrics; Dr. Joseph F. O'Keefe, internal medicine/physical medicine; Dr. Steven Powell, internal medicine/pulmonary medicine; Dr. Donna M.
