Williams on Nagurski Watch List

UConn senior defensive end Trevardo Williams was named to the 2012 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List Thursday. The Trophy is awarded annually to the nation's best defensive player.

Earlier in the week, Williams was named to the watch list for the Bednarik Award by the Maxwell Football Club, which is also given to the top defensive player in the country.

Williams was as a second yeam All-Big East selection as a junior after leading UConn with 12.2 sacks and was second in tackles for loss with 15.0. He totaled 43 tackles, 20 of which came in the final five games of the season.

Williams ranked second in the country and first in the Big East 1.04 sacks per game. His 19 career sacks currently rank sixth all-time at UConn.
