Hot off the Press: Liuzzi Cheese

Are you unnaturally obsessed with cheese? Do you have to try it all? Liuzzi Cheese (pronounced Lee–utz–ee) in North Haven has it all.

One of the finest Italian delis, found right in North Haven, Liuzzi carries more than 150 cheeses from around the world—not to mention a selection of its own locally produced fresh mozzarella, ricotta, caciocavallo, smoked mozzarella, and butter. Who just said yummy?

Cheesemaker Pasquale Liuzzi opened the shop up in 1981 after moving to the United States and was one of the first merchants to introduce fresh mozzarella to the Connecticut market.

Don’t go into this Italian deli hungry unless you’re ready to shop—you’ll find anything Italian—imported deli meats, prepared foods, groceries, pastas, bread, marinated peppers, olives, and more.
