A while back, I told you about how Little Man was riding a bike. Today I am telling you that your kid needs this same bike. Seriously.
We bought Little Man a Strider Bike last year for his 2nd birthday (ps--he turned THREE yesterday!!). He literally spent a total of an hour on his bike from October until July of this summer. I am not sure what happened at that point, but since July if he is outside, there is a good chance he is on his bike. He LOVES his bike. And I LOVE to watch him on it.
The Strider Bike has no pedals, so your kid learns to balance without having to worry about pedaling. Little Man has perfected his technique, alternating between pushing and coasting around. The website says the bike is for kids between 18 months and 5 years, and the good thing is the bike is completely adjustable to accommodate your growing child. When Little Man DOES outgrow his bike, he will just go right to a big boy bike, you know, because he is AWESOME at balancing.
I cannot begin to tell you how much we love this bike. While Little Man was almost three before he took to his bike, The Animal (at 14 months) is already showing interest and will probably be getting one of her own sooner than later. Anytime we go out (because the bike is totally portable and awesome to bring wherever we are going), someone comments or asks about this bike. It is always funny to see such a little person riding around on a bike without training wheels and it takes most people a few minutes to realize there are no pedals.
So you can thank me now for helping you out with your Christmas shopping. Trust me on this one!
(p.s. This is totally my own opinion, I received nothing for this post. Strider knows nothing about this. But if they see it and want to send me a new bike for The Animal to thank me, hey, I'm all for it)
