Democratic U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney and his Republican challenger in the Second Congressional District East Lyme First Selectman Paul Formica are scheduled to take part in a one-hour debate Monday.
The debate will take place at 7 p.m. in Palmer Auditorium on the campus of Connecticut College in New London and will be open to the public.
The debate is being sponsored as part of a cooperative effort of The Day, Connecticut College and Connecticut Public Television. The debate will be covered live on CPTV stations and streamed live on The Day's website,
www.theday.com.
A decision will be made Sunday as to whether the debate will be held as scheduled or will need to be rescheduled because of Hurricane Sandy. A breaking news story will be posted on theday.com Sunday night.
Both U.S. Senate candidates have stated their commitment to generating economic growth in Connecticut. How much impact do you think a senator realistically has on the local economy?
