Author and distinguished professor of Atlantic history at the University of Pittsburgh, Marcus Rediker, will visit Mystic Seaport to discuss his newest publication, "The Amistad Rebellion: An Atlantic Odyssey of Slavery and Freedom." This is the first book in more than 20 years to recount the most famous slave rebellion in American history and it is told for the first time ever from the slaves' point of view.
Rediker's presentation will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, in the River Room of Latitude 41° Restaurant located outside the Mystic Seaport entrance. Tickets are $20, $15 for members and $5 for students and may be reserved by calling (860) 572-5339.
