While National Hot Toddy Day technically is on Jan. 11, 'tis the season for hot, warm, soul-satisfying beverages right now. While cocoa and tea are fine comfort drinks after a day in the cold, how can you resist something called "Hot Toddy"?
According to wikipedia, traditional hot toddies (out of northern England) "involves the mixture of whisky, boiling water or warm milk, and sugar or honey. Additional ingredients such as cloves, a lemon slice or cinnamon (in stick or ground form) may be added."
So, in the spirit of the season, I give you a quick and easy hot toddy recipe.

2 tablespoons bourbon
1 tablespoon mild honey
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup boiling-hot water
Put bourbon, honey and lemon juice in a 6-ounce mug. Top off with hot water and stir until honey is dissolved.
