The irony was overwhelming. While funeral directors and funeral homes were giving their services free to some of the victims of Sandy Hook, Ron Rando of Ron's Guns was selling assault rifles with apparently only a thought of the bottom line. ("Gun owners say stricter laws not the answer," published Dec. 20).
I give Dick's Sporting Goods much credit for pulling these assault rifles from its shelves. It seems the least one could do in the face of such tragedy.
The NRA has proposed stationing an armed officer in every U.S. school as a way to defend against mass shootings like the one at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown. Do you support the NRA's proposal?
