The anguish we all feel because of the Sandy Hook school tragedy should not be the basis for poorly conceived, unenforceable, and reactionary legislation. No legislation should impinge upon our constitutional rights, even in the slightest amount. Once any abridgement of a constitutional right is permitted the entire fabric is weakened and all other protections afforded by that document are threatened by precedent. It's like being a little bit pregnant. Ain't no such thing.
Marginalizing or circumventing the Constitution can only lead to the destruction of the Republic. The erosion of the Constitution, to any degree, places us all on the road to tyranny by default.
