Local Wireless Zone franchises donate $100,000 to nonprofits

Wireless Zone, locally owned and family operated, donated more than $100,000 to several nonprofit organizations in eastern Connecticut in 2012. With 12 stores and more than 70 employees, the Wireless Zone team was able to give back to their community while raising awareness for these organizations within the stores.

With the help of the Wireless Zone spinwheel, they were able to raise more than $30,000 at local fairs and events, including the Durham Fair. The New London, Groton and Norwich teams raised another $2,500 for the Hospice Southeastern Connecticut Walk 2012.

The local Wireless Zone franchise owners, Scott Gladstone, Neil Ryan and Todd Postler, also nominated certain organizations for grants from the Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving Inc. More than $194,000 in grants was given this year to charities and 10 of these organizations were in eastern Connecticut, which were presented checks at the Wireless Zone Holiday Party 2012.
