Student arrested after drugs found in potato chip bag

Groton — A 17-year-old student at the Ella T. Grasso Technical High School was arrested Thursday after the student attempted to sell marijuana by hiding it in a potato chip bag.

State police said a teacher took the potato chip bag from the student and found the drugs. Police said the student was attempting to sell the marijuana.

The student was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. The student’s case was referred to Juvenile Court in Waterford.
