The Shoreline Arts Alliance seeks entries to its 13th annual New Voices in Children's Literature: Tassy Walden Awards competition through Monday, April 1. The statewide, juried competition is open to unpublished authors and illustrators of children's books. Judges may present a $250 prize to a winner in each of five categories: Picture Book (text only), Illustrated Picture Book (art and text), Children's Book Illustrator Portfolio, Middle Grade Novel, and Young Adult/Teen Novel.
Workshops in preparation for the contest are offered on Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Old Lyme; Tuesday, Feb. 19, in New Haven; and Saturday, Feb. 23, in Middletown. Workshops are free but reservations are requested. Reserve at tassy@shorelinearts.org
