Nancy Roberts, who has led the Hartford-based Connecticut Council for Philanthropy since 1991, has announced that she will step down this month.
A national search for a successor has concluded, and the new council president will be introduced at the Connecticut Philanthropy Summit May 9.
The council is an association of foundations, corporations and others whose mission is to promote and support effective philanthropy in Connecticut.
The council's board chair, Kim Healey, praised Roberts' "extraordinary vision and leadership" and noted the council's "remarkable growth" while making the announcement this week.
