Miami breakthrough

Construction workers climb through debris pushed by a giant $45 million tunnel-boring machine Monday as it completed the final leg of the westbound tunnel to Watson Island in Miami. The breakthrough completes the drilling of a $1 billion tunnel connecting the Port of Miami with nearby expressways. The tunnel isn't scheduled to open to traffic for another year.
