Sing with the Shoreline Chorale as we begin preparation for our Fall concert. The theme for this season is Journeys.

The Shoreline Chorale is a mixed (SATB) non-audition choir that rehearses and performers works from the broad spectrum of choral literature, including unaccompanied selections. Comprised of approximately 40 singers, the ensemble celebrates the joys of music-making and the collaborative community of the performing arts. Our regular rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:15–9:30 p.m. at Polson Middle School in Madison.

The Coast Guard Band Chamber Players will present “Fortune” at 2 p.m. Sunday in Leamy Concert Hall at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
Coast Guard Band Assistant Director CWO Richard Wyman conducts and hosts the concert. The concert opens with three short pieces written specifically for wind ensemble by Beethoven, and is followed by the “Serenade No. 1,” composed in 1929 by the then 14-year-old Vincent Persichetti. “Fortune” takes twists and turns in the story accompanying the suite from Robert Kurka’s “Good Soldier Schweik,” which will be conducted by guest conductor Lauren Reynolds.
The concert is free and open to the public. Leamy Concert Hall is located at 15 Mohegan Ave., New London.

The Southern Gospel Men's Choir at Niantic Community Church is accepting new members. Under the direction of Nancy Rigdon, rehearsals are Tuesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. And no experience is necessary. Community Music School, located in the Spencer’s Corner professional complex at 90 Main Street in Centerbrook, is now registering for the Fall semester which begins on September 3rd, and welcomes the general public to visit during Open House Week September 8 through 12. Children and adults can tour the School’s studios, meet teachers and staff, enjoy a FREE preview lesson, and learn about a vast array of programs including private and group lessons, jazz and string ensembles, musical theater, the Kindermusik early childhood program, and music therapy services.
