The first women graduate from the U.S. Navy's Submarine Officer Basic Course Friday at the Submarine School in Groton.

Class 11060 of the U.S. Navy's Submarine Officer Basic Course, which includes the first female graduates, pose for photos following their graduation Friday from the Navy's Submarine School in Groton. Eleven ensigns, six lieutenants and two lieutenants junior grade will be the first women officers to report for duty on submarines based in Kings Bay, Ga., or Bangor, Wash., by the end of the month.
