Lewis Dube, as President Abraham Lincoln, greets visitors to Norwich City Hall for Dube's re-enactment of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation on the 150th anniversary of enactment of that proclamation Tuesday, January 1, 2013. At 11:45 a.m. Dube re-enacted Lincoln's 1863 signing of the proclamation, then at noon bells throughout the city were rung for an hour, followed by a reception at the Wauregan ballroom and then at 1 p.m. civil war re-enactors fired a 100 cannon salute across Norwich harbor and events concluded with a speaking program at NFA's Slater Auditorium.
