An employee at New England Seafood Distributors in New London stands between the iced-over net reels on the fishing vessel Gabby G. as workers clear the vessel of ice at the dock Friday, Jan. 25. The boat had to be cleared of the ice, which was making the vessel extremely top-heavy, before the catch of Whiting could be offloaded. The Gabby G. is back after seven days from a fishing trip looking for squid and Whiting, that was cut short when the vessel's starboard outrigger broke during an effort to de-ice at sea.
