More snow heading our way

While there is a brief respite in the snowfall this morning, more snow is expected by noon.

According to Richard Castro, an intern at the National Weather Service, the first wave of snow has left the region but another wave will reach us by noon.

The first wave of snow has already produced several inches of snow.

Castro said spotters in Ledyard reported 3 inches of snow while two inches were reported in Norwich.

The snow won't leave the region until the evening.

Snowfalls totals for both storms are expected to range between 5 to 7 inches.

Today's scheduled meeting in Norwich of the local Haitian relief committee has been cancelled for the second time due to the weather.

The meeting, with representatives from the local Haitian community and several social services agencies, had been planned for 4 p.m. at Norwich Free Academy. The committee has rescheduled its meeting to Monday at 4 p.m. at the Sidney Frank Center at Norwich Free Academy.
