The claim that Janet Peckinpaugh keeps making that Rep. Joe Courtney voted with his leadership 98 percent of the time is blatantly misleading.
She is referring to a Washington Post database that lists all votes in Congress. The problem with the number that Ms. Peckinpaugh uses is that she fails to tell people that our congressman also votes with the Republicans 53 percent of the time.
That's the difficulty with blind statistics that Ms. Peckinpaugh is using - there is no substance. Rep. Joe Courtney is an independent voice for eastern Connecticut, and I'll take his thoughtful votes over Ms. Peckinpaugh's blind allegiance to Republican talking points any day. He's got my vote.
