The Connecticut Sun will play a pair of preseason games at home, including one against the reigning WNBA champion Minnesota Lynx.
Sun officials announced their three-game preseason schedule on Monday. They will play the New York Liberty at Mohegan Sun Arena on Monday, May 7, at 7 p.m., then return home Thursday, May 10, also at 7 p.m., to face the Lynx, who feature former Sun point guard Lindsey Whalen and Maya Moore, a four-time All-American at UConn.
Connecticut finishes its preseason with a road game at the Washington Mystics on Monday, May 14, at 7 p.m.
"Connecticut and New York are natural rivals, so we are very excited to give the fans of both teams an additional opportunity to see the Liberty and Sun play in 2012," Sun general manager Chris Sienko said. "Playing Minnesota at home will also give our fans an additional chance to see the defending WNBA champions in person."
The Sun begin their 10th WNBA season at Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, May 20, against the Liberty at 5 p.m. Season tickets and a variety of mini-plans packages are currently on sale and can be reserved by calling the ticket office at 1-877-SUN-TIXX (786-8499), via email at tickets@connecticutsun.com or by visiting www.connecticutsun.com.
