Roger McGuinn, you didn't have to go to all that trouble just because we've got a briny, whalish history and the Mystic Seaport museum's just up 95 and our lobster rolls are delicious.
The former Byrds Dude - the songwriter and 12-string strummist behind "Mister Spaceman" and "Eight Miles High," whose solo tuneage includes "Mansion On the Hill," and whose forays into folk are magical - has a new album called "CCD" that comprises nothing but 23 archival songs of the sea!
McGuinn plays tonight at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, and the whole thing is too appropriately cool to be a coincidence. Put on your "Perfect Storm" gear or at least a Gilligan hat and be there.
