Posada vs ... Delle Donne?

Greetings! The Yankee Blog (TYB), new and improved for 2012, makes its debut today.

And right in time for The Cathedral’s opening.

Sometimes, things just work out swimmingly.

TYB will add a new/old component this year. TYB will answer all reader comments with its own pithy comments (once we work out a few kinks). So be ready. TYB spares no one’s feelings.

Nice to see Jorge Posada throwing out the first pitch today. This is a marked difference between the Yankees and the JV Phillies, who have chosen infidel Elena Delle Donne to throw out the first pitch for their home opener.

Elena Delle Donne, for those of you who do not partake of women’s hoops, left UConn three days into her career. She’s been a fine player atDelaware. Still not sure why you’d ever pick her to throw out a first pitch, though. Surely, there’s someone in Philly lore and legend who would be better. Maybe Jaws. Or Bake McBride.

TYB will say this much for Elena, though: She’d be the No. 2 starter inBoston. (Giggle, snort). Seriously, how bad are they? Could be a fun summer.
