Motorcyclist slightly injured in Groton crash

Groton – A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital this evening with minor injuries after he crashed into the rear of a pickup truck on Buddington Road, police said.

Police briefly closed down Buddington Road around 6 p.m. near Route 1 after the crash. The driver of the red pickup truck was uninjured and the truck had no visible damage. The motorcycle had minor damage but was to be towed from the scene.

The crash occurred on the Buddington Road side of The Spot restaurant.

Groton Town police and the Poquonnock Bridge Fire Department responded to the scene.
