New London — A New London man was injured early Monday when he fell out of a third-floor apartment on Bank Street, police said.

Police said Jeffrey Goodall was drinking with his girlfriend when he climbed off the roof and back onto their balcony at 621 Bank St. He slipped and fell three stories onto the pavement around 4:12 a.m.

He was initially taken to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital but was later transferred to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment.

Reached at the hospital, Goodall, 29, said he suffered a “tiny” fracture in his jaw and nose and banged up his knee. He said doctors planned to run tests again for internal bleeding Tuesday. If cleared Tuesday, Goodall said he will be able to leave the hospital.

He said he and his girlfriend were on the roof of the apartment when he went to get a blanket downstairs and slipped on his way down.

“I don’t remember hitting the pavement,” Goodall said, who was in good spirits Monday night.
