An expo focusing on green careers and environmentally friendly lifestyles will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Garde Arts Center in New London.

Sponsored by Partners In Healthy Communities and the New London chapter of the NAACP, the expo will include a wide range of companies that provide energy-saving and conservation services, agricultural benefits and recycling.

"The Green Lifestyle Expo will provide information and resources in New London County and invite residents to be involved in improving the environment and sustainable living," said organizer Eva Csejtey in an email.

Organizers are still seeking sponsors and vendors willing to share their expertise, wares and resources.

Suggested donation is $100 for sponsors and vendors, but no one will be turned away. All proceeds will go to Garde Arts Center. Admission is free to the public.

For sponsorships, contact Bud McAllister at (860) 961-8228, email mcbud4@yahoo.com. For vendors or those wishing to host tables at the event, contact Csejtey at (860) 230-5008 or email ecsejtey@yahoo.com.

Opening remarks will be made by Mayor Daryl Justin Finizio. Jim Butler, executive director of the Southeastern Connecticut Council of Governments, will be among the speakers and will discuss the Regional Plan for Conservation and Development.
