The delivery man who was injured Friday when a 1,000-pound slab of stone fell on him in Waterford was listed in fair condition Tuesday evening.

Wellington Soares, 56, of Framingham, Mass., was airlifted to the intensive care unit of Hartford Hospital Friday morning when the slab he was unloading at Salem Stone Design fell on him.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has taken over the investigation because it was a workplace accident, according to Waterford police.
