WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (AP) — Amtrak says a pedestrian has been struck and killed in Connecticut by a train headed from Springfield, Mass., to New Haven.

Spokeswoman Christina Leeds says the incident occurred at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday north of the Windsor Locks station.

The person has not been identified.

Leeds says no injuries were reported among crew members or the 19 passengers, who were taken by bus to their destinations as the train was halted.

The rail track fatality is the fifth in Connecticut since December. Previous incidents were in Meriden in February, two in Wallingford in December and January and one in Old Lyme in December.
