Robert Rothschild Farms

My pal Dr. Larry Williams is a terrific cook with a keen appreciation for well prepared food of all styles. And yet - Dr. Larry is perhaps most happy with a huge bag of Fritos and a large can of bean dip. Who among us cannot relate to the simple glories of such base indulgence? In that spirit, have you tried the Rothschild Farms Bloody Mary Dip? HA! It's pretty astounding, is what it is. A very thick concoction the color of a pink-orange sunset, it requires sturdy support chippage - ruffles or robust kettle, perhaps - and has the addictive power of a Class I narcotic. The flavor is not only similar to the titular drink but also to Gulf Coast cocktail sauce that you'd use with raw oysters or shrimp. A tomato base with whispers of lemon, dill, paprika, horseradish and Worcestershire. Delicious, and with a devil's sneaky and cumulative heat. We've seen it from $8.95 to $10.49 for an 11-ounce jar.
