KISSTORY rocks 'n' rolls all nite in New London

The issue with any KISS tribute band is not whether they incorporate replica costumes from the original core line-up and play the hits as well as tunes like "Let Me Go Rock 'n' Roll." And it's not whether there's the requisite fire-breathing, blood-vomiting, confetti blizzard and colored smoke - though all of these things count.

No. It's whether they're smart enough to NOT cover any songs originally sung by Ace Frehley. Man, that dude can't sing.

Anyway, expect only the good stuff from New York's KISSTORY, who headline Saturday night in New London's Bank Street Cafe.

- RICK KOSTER

KISSTORY, 9 p.m. Saturday, Bank Street Cafe, 637 Bank St., New London; opener is Groton metal act Brewzer; $10 includes first drink; (860) 444-1444, bankstreetcafe.net.
