East Lyme — A Waterbury man and a Wolcott woman were both arrested late Friday by state police after allegedly taking part in a burglary at a residence at 103 W. Main St.
Kenneth Edwards, 50, was charged with first-degree larceny, third-degree burglary, interfering with a police officer and criminal attempt to commit a crime. Rebecca Lynn Benson, 26, was charged with improper use of a marker plate, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy.
Police said that Edwards fled the scene and hid in a heavily wooded area nearby before police arrived, found him and took him into custody. Benson was found a short distance from the scene. Police said she was in possession of numerous drug paraphernalia items designed for narcotics use.
Edwards' bond was set at $15,000 and Benson was held on a $10,000 bond. Both are scheduled to appear Monday in New London Superior Court.
