The response to the recent Animal Welfare League Pet Food Drive held at Sally Beauty Supply in Groton was overwhelming. To see the community come together to help animals in need shows that southeastern Connecticut residents do share with and care for others.
This food drive couldn't have been such a success without the help of many people, from Sally Beauty Supply to those area businesses who posted flyers, to AWL's volunteers (both four-footed and two-footed), to all those who contributed food and/or dollars. This event accomplished its goal of collecting and distributing pet food to these animals in need. Hard work combined with fun and a sense of community spirit united all those involved.
At a time when so many things happening around us appear to not be so good, isn't it nice to see something so rewarding?
