Groton— A sailor assigned to the Naval Submarine Support Center participated in the Ashford University “D.C. Hill Day” event in Washington April 16-17. Yeoman 2nd Class Sebastian L. Moore, who attends Ashford University’s online bachelor program, was one of eight students selected to participate. The Ashford University students and staff toured the Capitol Building and met with elected officials. Moore, who is studying business administration through the Iowa-based university’s online program, said it was his first opportunity to meet elected officials. “Petty Officer Moore is a consummate sailor, he gives 100 percent both professionally and personally, which is why he is NSSC’s Junior Sailor of the Year and one of Ashford University’s selections to attend this trip,” said Lt. Vern Cook, executive officer of the Naval Submarine Support Center.
