Modern Marine Masters show opens at seaport

The Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport will host its 33rd annual spring exhibition and sale, "Modern Marine Masters." The exhibition opens Sunday and runs through June 10.

On display will be more than 75 original paintings, drawings, sculpture, scrimshaw and models from leading maritime artists. Viewers will see varying interpretations of the sea, including classic racing yachts, modern vessels, working boats and those who make their living from the sea, scenes of busy harbors and paintings of beaches.
