The delivery man who was injured April 13 when a 1,000-pound slab of stone fell on him in Waterford has been released from the hospital, a spokeman said Tuesday.

Wellington Soares, 56, of Framingham, Mass., was airlifted to the intensive care unit of Hartford Hospital the morning of April 13 after a slab he was unloading at Salem Stone Design in Waterford fell on him.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration have taken over the investigation because it was a workplace accident, according to Waterford police.
