Norwich — A city man remains in critical condition at the burn unit in Bridgeport Hospital following an April 3 fire that damaged a home he was staying in at 68 N. Main St., a fire official said Monday.
Fire Chief Ken Scandariato said Monday the fire was caused by smoking material and has been determined to have been accidental.
Scandariato also said that a March 29 fire at 11 Lake St. remains under investigation. The home was vacant at the time of the fire. He said investigators found multiple incendiary points, but he could not say whether the fire was set intentionally.
Scandariato said a team is actively working to find what caused the fire.
