The March-April issue of the magazine "Corporate Responsibility" lists three companies with local operations as among the 100 best corporate citizens for 2012. The list is on the web site, www.thecro.com.
Northeast Utilities, based in Hartford, ranked 31st, while Dow Chemical Co., with a facility in Ledyard, ranked 34th. Ranking 84th was Dominion Resources, which operates the Millstone Power Station in Waterford.
Companies were ranked in areas including: environment; climate change; human rights, employee relations; corporate governance; philanthropy and financial. The highest overall rating went to Bristol-Myers Squibb Co.
