The Groton Open Space Association will conduct its annual cleanup of Haley Farm State Park from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday. Participants are asked to bring used grocery bags, loppers, clippers, gloves and drinking water.
Located off of Brook Street in Noank, this approximately 200 acre park is located next to Palmer Cove. Originally a 17th-century farm, the state-owned property has diverse plant and wildlife communities. Recreational opportunities include bicycling, running, walking and picnicking. There is a small public parking lot at the park's entrance. For information contact Sidney Van Zandt at (860) 572-5715 or svanzandt3@aol.com.
Should the New London Fire Department try to rehire fired firefighter Alfred Mayo?
