Ledyard — A home at 19 Meetinghouse Lane sustained extensive damage when a car struck it Tuesday night.
Police said the accident happened at 10:12 p.m. The 1997 Ford Explorer left the roadway and struck the home. The home was occupied at the time, but because of the damage the residents were not allowed to return to the dwelling.
Police said one person in the car was taken to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Information on the driver was not available.
The accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information on the accident is asked to call Ledyard Officer Troy Johnson at (860) 464-6400.
Emergency personnel from the Ledyard Police Department, Ledyard Fire Department and the Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad responded to the scene.
