Day staffers Peter Huoppi and Rick Koster have received nominations for the 35th Boston/New England Emmy Awards.
Huoppi and Koster were nominated in the Outstanding Arts/Entertainment Specialty Report category for "Royale Brothers 'confront the sorrow,'" a feature on the aftermath in a local band whose lead guitarist died unexpectedly.
Huoppi earned another nomination in the Outstanding Sports Specialty Report category for his video feature on runner Julia Chase-Brand, who, 50 years ago, defied a ban on female runners to enter the Manchester Road Race. Chase-Brand ran the race again in 2011. Joe Wojtas reported the story.
The regional Emmy Awards ceremony takes place June 2.
