The other day my 7-year-old asked me a question that was quite revealing: "Dad who gave us our house?"
"I thought of the words and replied, "Mommy and Daddy have a piggy bank like yours. We worked hard and put our money in it so we could save and buy it."
I told her nothing in life worthwhile is free of charge. There are no free lunches and anyone that tells you that all things are free is simply wrong.
Our country is coming to a fork in the road, and I do not see how she can have the same opportunities as me unless our federal and state governments learn to work within their means and a budget.
I believe in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I have had my share of hard times. I put myself through school and have been unemployed. I have made the sacrifices to be where I am today.
I want my 7-year-old to have the same and even better opportunities than I had. The country is $15 trillion in debt. That is not the "hope and change" I want.
Would you ever consider using marijuana for medical purposes?
