Mr. and Mrs. Marshall G. LaCombe of Plainville are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin Elizabeth to Douglas Walter Parkinson of Salem. Douglas is the son of Michael and Susan Parkinson of Salem.

The bride-to-be graduated from Plainville High School in Plainville. The groom-to-be graduated from East Lyme High School in East Lyme.

Erin and Douglas both hold bachelor's degrees from Central Connecticut State University. Erin's degree is in psychology and Douglas' degree is in accounting. Erin is employed as a groomer with Best Friends Pet Care and Douglas is an outside claims handler for The Hartford.

The couple is planning to be married October 21, 2012 at The Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown.
