Montville — Twelve of the town’s 7,997 Connecticut Light & Power customers remained without power as of 9:30 this evening following an outage at the Uncasville Substation off Haley Road.
The original loss of power around 1:30 p.m. affected 47 percent of CL&P customers in the town, or a total of 3,823 customers, according to an outage map on the company’s website.
A CL&P spokeswoman said a transformer in town malfunctioned. The transformer has since been replaced.
Power was restored to 1,500 consumers after the initial call came in. Around 8 p.m., most customers had had their power restored.
